So…I was on Youtube looking up videos of Obama and I saw a million signs of “Yes We Can” and ” I Want Change.” Which made me think, “Do I want change?”

As I reflect on the past few months, I felt there  have been so many changes in my life. I recently changed my major, the stability of friends are constantly being tested, financial security, and my future only becomes more unknown.(Apparently my thoughts of change are very selfish and has absolutely nothing to do with politics like I started out in this entry, but whatever.) A year from now, I’ll be graduating and trying to find work. Time moves at such a rapid speed, I find it hard to keep up.

Yes, “change is a part of life,” but sometimes I wonder if we’re the ones making life a lot more difficult than it needs to be. I used to be the one that would always want something extravagant in life and just “chilling” was not enough. Instead of doing the usual and lounging around at my friend, John’s house, I would want to “do something crazy” and go for a midnight 2 hour drive to Philly for some cheese-steaks. When I analyze my current situation, I’ve realized that maybe “chilling” was enough. When so many things are changing at once I find myself turning to the thing I find familiar. Maybe, that’s why people love going home so much. Benjamin button said, “It’s a funny thing coming home. Nothing changes. Everything looks the same, feels the same, even smells the same. You realize what’s changed, is you.”

Ever since I came to college, whenever nostalgia hits, it hit hard. I always think how great life was back in the day, but I’ve learned things can never really go back to the beginning. Time is constantly moving and it’ll even leave us behind, so all we can do is progress forward.

To answer the question from the beginning…”Do I want change?”

I guess that’s relative to how good your life is at the moment. Nobody really wants change, but change is necessary. …Obama had it right all along…I want change. (once again nothing to do with politics)
